Install it, Configure-it & Run-it…

First of all, you have to add the component to the ToolBox in the category “Control Flow Items” in the usual way… right click, you choose the “SSIS Control Flow Items”, you search and check “Dynamic WebService Task” and then click the OK button.

Did you see the Icon and Label of the component in the ToolBox?

.. so, drag it into the design surface

Let’s add some variables

image

  • RetParam – if eventually your called method returns a value
  • ServiceUrl – The URL to your asmx

Double-click on the component and you will get this:

image

..so, you choose your variable “ServiceUrl” and automatically you will get this:

image

… a list of available services. So you choose your Service and than you will get this:

image

For example, I choose for the “Add” WebMethod:

image

You obtain a listing of all method’s parameters and a list of available varaibles of type Object for the returned value.

If you choose the Web Method  -JustDoIt-:

… you will observe that the “Output value” disapeared.

Right now, we will fill parameters with some values:

image

So, you can choose a single variable or you can specify an expression just clicking on the botton of the f(x) column

And the result is:

Now, we have all component properties filled:

Let’s execute it:

image

And that’s the execution log:

That’s all folks!
